|CORN GLUTEN MEAL|
|CORN GLUTEN MEAL is the dried residue from corn after the removal of the larger part of the starch and
germ, and the separation of the bran by the process employed in the wet-milling manufacture of corn starch
and syrup, or by enzymatic treatment of the endosperms. It may contain fermented corn extractives and/or
corn germ meal.
CORN GLUTEN MEAL is a valuable protein supplement is feeds for poultry, especially in broiler and turkey
rations, as well as for dairy cattle.
CORN GLUTEN MEAL contains more productive energy than other commonly used vegetable-protein
supplements. Its Protein is a good source of methionine. It is a good source of beta-carotene (pro-vitamin A)
and Xanthophylls which are valued for their skin and yoke pigmentation.
This means that less vitamin A supplement is required in the ration. A 4-6% level of corn
gluten meal in a broiler feed often will add enough supplementary xanthophylls to produce desirable
pigmentation in a dressed broiler.
CORN GLUTEN MEAL is a valuable ingredient in pet foods (for cats and dogs)
because of its high digestibility and low residue production. It should be formulated with other
protein carrying ingredients which provide supplementary tryptophan and lysine.
CORN GLUTEN MEAL is also a suitable feedstuff for swine.
